As a commercial real estate photographer in Northern California, I’m often brought into projects that reflect how quickly parts of San Francisco continue to evolve. Studio by Tishman Speyer, located in the Mission Rock neighborhood, is a good example of that momentum. Set near Oracle Park and Chase Center, the facility sits within one of the city’s newest large-scale developments.
The space itself is distributed across multiple floors and includes a range of environments: meeting rooms, private offices, open cubicle areas, a lounge, and an event space. Both interior and exterior areas are part of the overall layout, and photographing the project required attention to how these different zones connect and function together.
For projects like this, the photographs are meant to communicate more than just finishes. They show how a modern workplace is organized, how it supports collaboration and events, and how it fits into a larger urban context. As a commercial real estate photographer in Northern California, assignments like this allow me to connect long-term documentation with finished architecture—capturing the full arc of a development from construction to completion.
A personal note made this assignment especially meaningful. Over the past several years, I’ve documented crane work and construction progress throughout the Mission Rock development. Having spent time inside these buildings while they were still raw and unfinished, it was striking to return after completion and see how the spaces have been refined and activated.
