As a commercial real estate photographer in Northern California, I’m often brought in to create images that help a property stand out in a competitive market. This project involved photographing one of five units in a small residential development in Berkeley, shot specifically for a realtor’s MLS listing in preparation for the sale of the property.

The home’s exterior has a distinct post-modern industrial character, setting it apart from more traditional residential architecture in the area. Inside, the space was beautifully staged, and my focus was on capturing how the design unfolds across three levels in a way that feels both intentional and livable.

A standout feature of the property is the spacious deck, which connects directly to the kitchen and dining area through large sliding glass doors. Photographing this indoor-outdoor relationship was key, as it adds usable living space and brings in natural light—an important selling point for buyers in the Berkeley market.

For MLS photography, clarity and accuracy are critical. The images need to present the home at its best while remaining true to scale and layout. As a commercial real estate photographer in Northern California, my approach is to create photographs that help potential buyers quickly understand how a property lives, supporting agents with visuals that drive interest and showings.
