I was hired to photograph vacant office space in the Rapp Building, a historic commercial property in San Francisco close to Salesforce Tower, for use by the listing agent in new marketing materials. The assignment focused on creating a clear, professional visual presentation that would support leasing efforts while respecting the character of the building.
The Rapp Building’s architectural details and urban location are central to its appeal. My approach was to highlight the balance between historic elements and functional office layouts, showing how the space can accommodate modern tenants while retaining a strong sense of place within the city.
Rather than simply documenting an empty interior, I focused on producing images that communicate readiness and potential. Careful attention to perspective, light, and flow helps convey how the office could be configured and occupied, allowing prospective tenants to visualize the space as a working environment.
Photographs like these are often the first interaction a potential tenant has with a property. For the listing agent, strong, accurate imagery plays a critical role in attracting interest and generating tours. Documenting office spaces in buildings like the Rapp Building is a core part of my commercial photography work in San Francisco, supporting leasing and marketing efforts across the city.
